Cardiometabolic Diseases

The OLaGA Study Group investigates the biological, behavioral, and environmental drivers of cardiometabolic diseases—including obesity, diabetes, and hypertension—to understand how risk develops and can be prevented across the life course in Pacific Island populations. By integrating genetics, longitudinal epidemiology, and culturally grounded intervention research, we aim to reduce the burden of cardiometabolic disease and support healthier futures for Pacific communities.
